The ICA Parents' Guild is composed of all parents and guardians of students currently enrolled at ICA.
    The purposes of the ICA Parents' Guild are:
  1. to foster community among the parent membership;
  2. to support the spiritual growth of students and their families;
  3. to provide financial support for specified school projects.
    The requirements of ICA Parents Guild members are:
  1. to pay annual dues (this amount is included in the general registration fee).
  2. to attend the General Parents’ meetings held twice a year;
  3. to support Parents’ Guild activities;
  4. to give fifteen service hours per year to the school.
   
      Opportunities for Service Hours
Please select the committees or activities you would like to participate in for 2007-2008 in order to fulfill your fifteen (15) hours of service per family.

    1. Holiday Boutique (Saturday, November 18) includes several forms of involvement: selling tables to vendors who offer their own goods for sale; collecting or marketing arts and crafts for sale at the Guilds' table; contributing baked goods; manning the snack/lunch bar; publicity; setting up, selling, cleaning up on the day of the event. Planning begins early in the school year.  
    2. Spring BBQ Committee (Saturday, May 5th) coordinates the annual spring BBQ. It involves advertising, cooking, setting up, decorating, 50/50 raffle, door prizes and clean up.  
    3. Silent Auction/Prizes and Gifts for the Wine and Cheese obtains donations from parents, merchants, businesses, etc. for the silent auction. (Saturday, January 20)  
    4. Telephone Tree is composed of parents, under the direction of a chairperson, who keeps monthly contact with other parents to communicate information and reminders about events at ICA.  
    5. Walk-a-Thon is one of our major fund-raisers. Volunteers are needed to assist on the day of the event to check in students at ICA and along the route. Also, at least one car is needed. (September 5)  
    6. Welcome/Hospitality is a service committee that greets those attending Guild and other events, prepares refreshments for parent meetings, Masses, and the welcome luncheon for the faculty and staff in August  
    7. Parking Control/Security assists at all parent events for island parking on Guerrero Street (placing the cones and barricades on the street at least 15 minutes before the event) and with general security.  
    8. Beautification of ICA helps with general cleanup at school and with special projects in the Fall.  
    9. ICA Parents’ Guild Board is the officiating body which coordinates parent events with the school. If you would like to join this illustrious group, contact the Principal, the Guild President or one of the members.  
       
 

Other service opportunities may include assisting in the office, especially with the monthly Family Bulletin mailing; assisting teachers and/or moderators with special projects, chaperoning dances, etc. These opportunities are arranged with the individuals in charge, i.e., the office staff, class or club moderators.


In order to record your service hours, please make sure that you sign in and out at each activity with the chairperson. Hours are assigned for the time worked.
