  Guidelines for Coursework Private Colleges
English: All classes of at least CP level will be accepted.
Math: Algebra 1, 2, Geometry; Business: Preferably through Pre-Cal, Math Analysis, or Calculus
Engineering: Preferably through Calculus
Science: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy, Physiology, Oceanography
Social Science: U.S. History, Civics, Government, Psychology, Sociology, etc.*
Language Other Than English: A minimum of 3 years of the same language is recommended, but 4 years is highly encouraged.AP/IB/
Honors: All Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate courses will be accepted as well as any Honors courses in solid subjects.
Electives: All courses of at least CP status will be accepted in solid subjects including religious studies.
    Application Requirements
  • Transcripts Sealed Official High School
  • SAT Reasoning / ACT/
  • SAT Subject is NOT necessary at all private colleges
  • Private Colleges will utilize your highest test scores from each section of the SAT regardless of test date.
  • Personal statements are typically one to three pages in length.
  • Letter of Recommendation
  • Only one is required from either a teacher or high school counselor.
  • Extracurriculars: List the meaningful activities you participated in during school and in your community.
  • Fee$55 – fee waivers are available for those who qualify

  • Almost 70 percent of full-time undergraduates who attend four-year colleges face tuition charges, before student aid, of less than $8,000. About 38 percent attend institutions that charge less than $4,000, before student aid. Only 7 percent attend institutions with tuition (before aid) of $24,000 or more.
