Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC),
Summer High School Internship Program. Must be 16
yrs of age and completed 10th grade. 2.8 GPA or
higher. The purpose of this program is to
introduce high school students to career
opportunities in the field of transportation, and
to provide assistance to MTC's transportation
partners, such as planners at transit agencies or

J Camp, a multicultural journalism program for
talented high school students, presented by the
Asian American Journalist Association. Applicants
should have a keen interest in broadcasting,
newspapers, magazines, photojournalism, or new
media. This program is not limited to Asian
American students and is open to all young
journalists. Applicants must be sophomores or
juniors for this current year. There is no fee to
apply and all costs are covered. AAJA will select
approximately 40 participants.

California State Summer School for Mathematics &
Science (COSMOS).
COSMO is a four week summer residential program
at four UC campuses (Davis, Irvine, San Diego and
Santa Cruz) for exceptional students who are
completing grades 8th thru 12th. COSMO course
clusters address topics not traditionally taught
in high school (i.e. astronomy, ocean science,
robotics, engineering, biomedical sciences, earth
