College Admissions
The Guidance Director supports students through various activities (homeroom visits, college nights, college workshops, college fair, on-site admission day, announcements and counseling) to encourage and guide students through the college application process. Students and their families are strongly encouraged to begin the process during their freshmen year. The Guidance office provides various literature to provide students tips, information and resources about colleges nationwide as well as scholarship application and SAT and ACT materials. All students are able to meet with the Guidance Director during drop-in times and can make one-on-one counseling appointments to discuss their academic careers beyond ICA.
Families are provided several opportunities to learn about college admissions. ICA hosts evening meetings for parents such as: College Night, UC College Night, CSU College Night, Private College Night and FAFSA Night to inform them about college admissions. Families are also able to schedule appointments with the Guidance Director as needed. The college admissions process is a rigorous journey for all students, however, with proper planning, hard work in academic courses, involvement in extra-curricular activities both in and outside of school and support from families, ICA students can have wonderful opportunities open to them.
