The English Department of Immaculate Conception Academy assists and encourages the growth and development of the students’ abilities through the medium of language. The members of the department believe that command of language, written and spoken, is vital to every individual. Therefore, we strive to help students achieve facility in the use of the English language as well as to mature in their understanding and appreciation of literature from many cultures.

The department aims to help students become intelligent, competent and sensitive writers, readers, listeners and speakers. We emphasize thinking critically and responding creatively to literature. We encourage students to develop their writing skills and become competent and confident writers.
