Philosophy on the Role of the ARTS

Dance, Drama, Music and the Visual Arts are disciplines with aesthetic, perceptual, creative and intellectual dimensions. They foster students abilities to perceive, create, experience, analyze and organize, thereby encouraging intuitive and emotional, as well as verbal responses. The ARTS provide a balance in the curriculum which helps students realize their full potential. They provide avenues for self-discovery and opportunities to harmonize the mind, body and spirit.

For all students, study of the arts can increase self-discipline and motivation, contribute to a positive self-image, provide an acceptable outlet for emotions, and help to develop creative individuals.

The study of the arts can also contribute to the appreciation and understanding of the historical and cultural differences. ART celebrates one common intercultural heart.
