Art I 601000
Two Semesters 9, 10, 11, 12 UC/CSU
The objective of this class is to enlarge and enrich the student's understanding of the beauty and techniques of art. The student will develop her visual perceptions of the physical world and her imagination. Art techniques will include: collage, charcoal and pastel drawing, painting, mask making and block printing.

Art II 602000
Two Semesters 10, 11, 12 UC/CSU
Prerequisite: B or above in Art I
This class is intended for students who were excited by Introduction to Art and would like to continue developing their talents. Students will conceive and experiment with their own projects independently under the guidance of the teacher. Students need to be self-motivated, creative and eager to express their ideas.

Art III 603000
Two semesters 11, 12
Prerequisite: Grade of B or better in Art II
Students will focus on creating a portfolio of art work which will showcase their ability to conceive, compose and execute various forms of two-dimensional art. Students have the option to submit their portfolio for AP credit.

Drama I UC/CSU 604000
Two Semesters 10, 11, 12
Drama is an introduction to the theater arts with an emphasis on acting. The student will experience the joy and freedom of expressing her personality as well as the personalities of other characters. She will also learn the discipline and technique needed to create a believable and interesting role. She will be introduced to the fields of stagecraft, lighting, costumes, directing and scriptwriting.

Drama II 906200
Two Semesters 10, 11, 12 UC/CSU
Prerequisite: B+ or above in Drama I
Students who were bitten by the “theatre bug” in Introduction to Drama can continue developing their acting talents in Drama II. Students will be challenged to grow emotionally and artistically, as well as taking a leadership role in class. Drama II students will also have the opportunity to direct.

Dance I 606000
Two Semesters 10, 11, 12 UC/CSU
The student will learn the joy of movement--how to use her body to express herself. The class will teach correct body alignment and various dance forms: jazz, modern, ballet and ethnic. The student will learn to enjoy dance and to appreciate it as an artistic discipline.

Dance II 607000
Two semesters 10, 11, 12 UC/CSU
Prerequisite: B+ or above in Dance I
Students who excelled in Dance I may take a second year of dance class to develop their artistic talent and technical skills. Dance II students are expected to choreograph and teach their own dance.

Digital Art/Photoshop 909500
Two Semesters 10, 11, 12
This course is designed to teach students interested in digital photography and graphic design the basic skills to use Adobe Photoshop to scan, enhance and prepare photographs and other graphics either to be printed by themselves or incorporated into larger Photoshop graphics and montages. Students will learn basic design concepts and use the computer as a tool to create art.

Piano I 609000
Two semesters 10, 11, 12
This course focuses on the basics of piano technique and the fundamentals of music theory. Students will develop keyboarding skills and the ability to read music. Each student will have use of her own Casio keyboard. This class is designed for beginners.
